Kids Lunchbox: Breadsticks and red pesto dip

I discovered some bread sticks with no preservatives or sugar added and decided to include them in the kids lunchbox today as a treat. They have a small container filled with red pesto dip to soak the sticks in. Yummy! Nectarine slices, fig halves and some seedless black grapes to finish off the meal. Fruit remains an easy, quick and delicious way to ensure vitamin and mineral intake on a daily basis.

The Lunchbox: Butternut and chickpea veggie burger

Today is Friday and a real treat awaits the girls when they open the lunchbox today. Yes, I have packed a hamburger! Couldn't find any wholewheat rolls at the shops in my haste yesterday afternoon, so I opted for brown burger buns, slapped on some cucumber, lettuce and a butternut and chickpea pattie and voila. I also included some guava rings and peach halves to fill the gaps.

Lunchbox Idea: Banana Bread with Cucumber Rings and a Seedless Grape Bracelet

Today's Lunchbox Idea: Melissa and Kelsey have some wheat free, sugar free, egg free and dairy free banana bread in their lunchbox. I also packed in a seedless grape bracelet, some cucumber rings (which Kelsey had her fingers through earlier this morning much to her delight), some pineapple flowers and some delicious fresh strawberries. They also have orange infused water to drink and some funky lady serviettes to brighten their lunch.

Lunch Box Ideas: Wholewheat Raisin Bread and Rasberry Salad

Today we indulged in a large bowl of raspberry salad with 2 slices of wholewheat raisin bread, great lunch box ideas. I made the bread in my bread machine and decided to try adding some raisins to it and create a wholewheat raisin bread. The bread was somewhat sweet and most delicious.

Lunch Box Idea : Never Fail Wholewheat Bread with roasted butternut and hummus filling

Lunch Box Idea: The girls' and I baked some Never Fail Wholewheat bread yesterday. Bread is definately still an old favourite in the Langley household and we do still occasionally indulge in it. I do then try to stick to the homebaked variety which is free from all sugar, preservatives and other fillers which are usually included to make these breads so delicious. The bread pictured here is an old favourite recipe found in the Natural Way recipe books. To make the indulgence that much more decadent and memorable we roasted some butternut in the oven and placed a mashed layer onto the sandwich. This layer was then topped with hummus, pumkin seeds, lettuce and cucumber. To this lunchbox I also added some fresh pea pods, cubed mango and a bunch of grapes. I'm really glad to finally say that the summer fruits have arrived and with them comes loads of variety and delicious flavours.

Lunch Box Idea: Cream of Cauliflower Soup and Wholewheat bread

A great lunch box idea for a cold winter's morning,  a flask of cream of cauliflower soup and 2 slices of Mary-ann's Never Fail wholewheat bread to dip. Melissa and Kelsey insisted on their strawberries again today so I packed them in their whole form as this is how they most enjoy them. Today for a bit of variety I have included some guava wedges and a whole Granny Smith apple .... what are the chances of these whole apples being eaten?
