Lunchboxes: Tropical Pasta Salad with Cucumber Twists

Today Melissa and Kelsey have a tropical pineapple salad in their lunchboxes with sliced apricots and pineapple chunks. They also have a strawberry and kiwi fruit kebab and a Cucumber Twist. Slightly uninspired yesterday, I simply filled the lunchboxes with whole fruits and mini rice cakes. Melissa's comments yesterday afternoon: "Mom, why have you stopped packing shapes in my lunchbox, it looks like you just stuck the food in to fill the box today."- need I say more.

Lunchbox Idea: Peanut Butter and Banana Pita Pocket

Another great lunchbox idea, today Melissa and Kelsey have a wholewheat pita filled with peanut butter and banana slices drizzled with honey. They also have a salad skewer of cucumber, baby rosa tomatoes, baby mushrooms and folded lettuce. Carrot stars and fresh strawberries complete the box.

Lunchbox Idea: Hummer Wrap with Cucumber Chains

Today Melissa and Kelsey had a tortilla wrap filled with shredded lettuce, carrots, hummus, avo dip, olives and sprinkled with sesame seeds a nutritious lunchbox idea. I found this delightful printed wax paper to secure the tortilla's in, it really packs a punch. I also included some cucumber chains with fresh strawberries and some sliced persimmons (a RARE find). The orange infused water was a great success yesterday and I have included it again today.

Lunchbox Idea: Banana Bread with Cucumber Rings and a Seedless Grape Bracelet

Today's Lunchbox Idea: Melissa and Kelsey have some wheat free, sugar free, egg free and dairy free banana bread in their lunchbox. I also packed in a seedless grape bracelet, some cucumber rings (which Kelsey had her fingers through earlier this morning much to her delight), some pineapple flowers and some delicious fresh strawberries. They also have orange infused water to drink and some funky lady serviettes to brighten their lunch.

Lunch Box Idea: Valentines Day

Lunch Box Idea under pressure.Today I woke up and it suddenly dawned on me that Valentine's Day had once again lurked up on me and I hadn't purchased or put any thought into making it a really special day for Gav and the girls. My creative juices flowed as much as possible at 5am in the morning. I whipped out my heart shaped cookie cutter and found anything in my low stocked fridge that was still edible and set to work. Cucumber and pineapple shaped hearts. Heart shaped peanut butter sammies. Red pepper hearts with some pea pods and carrot balls to fill the gaps. I also found some red paper and quickly cut out a heart shaped message for the girls to find on opening their boxes. Voila!

Lunch Box Ideas: Triple Decker Corn Thins

Today I packed in triple decker corn thins spread thickly with peanut butter one of those quick, easy and simple lunch box ideas you can reach for on the fly. (Although peanut butter is not ideal opt for the sugar free variety or the natural pressed. You can also try home made cashew butter which is equally delicious.) For a bit of variety I pulled out the cookie cutter and sent some heart shaped cucumber slices to school to remind the girls how much I love them. Some grapes, guava slices and a juicy ripe pear to finish it off. This lunchbox is a winner!
